The "Charlie" Origin Story
Charlie didn't have an easy start. As a puppy, a reaction to a 5-in-1 vaccine nearly cost him his sight. From that moment on, we knew his system was sensitive, but we didn't know he would spend the next few years putting it to the ultimate test.
Living in a house with teenage girls meant a constant "buffet" of hair bows, Q-tips, and stray socks. Charlie ate them all. Not once, not twice, but three major abdominal surgeries were required to save him. After his digestive system had been through the ringer, I knew the chemicals and dyes in commercial kibble weren't going to help him heal.
Real Food for Real Issues
I also had older dogs and cats that developed cancer, and I became convinced it was linked to the red dyes and fillers found in store-bought food. Approximately 6 years ago, I started making dog food myself. I was tired of the "crap" in store food and knew Charlie needed better.
