Quick & Simple Instant Pot Chicken & Pumpkin

One pot, soft texture, easy on prep. Pumpkin makes this a great β€œrotation” batch when you want something different without getting fancy.

Ingredients (β‰ˆ6 lb batch)

  • Protein:
    • 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Vegetables:
    • 3 lbs pumpkin (plain canned pumpkin or cubed fresh pumpkin)
  • Fats (optional):
    • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or coconut oil
  • Liquid:
    • 1–1.5 cups water or unsalted chicken broth

Cooking Instructions – Instant Pot (β‰ˆ30 min total)

  1. Load the pot. Add chicken, then pumpkin. Pour in water or broth.
  2. Pressure cook. High Pressure 15 minutes. 5-minute natural release, then vent.
  3. Shred and stir. Shred chicken with a spoon and mix thoroughly. Add oil if using.
  4. Cool completely. Cool before portioning and storing.

Daily Feeding Guidelines

  • Small dogs: ½–¾ lb per day
  • Medium dogs: 1–1.5 lbs per day
  • Large dogs: 2–3 lbs per day
